The Colombian Corner

I am happy to share my latest project created during my time at Think Tank Training Centre. This is my first environment built entirely within Unreal Engine with a focus on real time game workflows.

This scene is based on a beautiful concept by Michal Kus. A huge thank you to him for allowing me to use this concept for my education.
The original concept was created for Sumo Digital and IO Interactive for the Hitman Franchise.

My main goal was to get comfortable with the pipeline for games. Learning Unreal Engine, Substance Designer and Painter and more. I created the tileable materials in substance designer and also all the patterns in the props. I used vertex painting to blend different material variations for the ceiling, walls and floor to create this old, weathered look. And I used RGB Masking workflow for the counter and shelves to add variety. For modeling I used the high to low baking process for my hero assets and for the background assets I used weighted normals to create a high poly look without baking. I developed all shaders in unreal, some more complex shaders for the magazines and postcards so I could use atlas textures that automatically switch different designs based on world position. Overall, I learned a ton of new stuff, and I am happy with the results, I cannot wait to start the next project.

I want to give special thanks to my coach Aleksandar Danilovac for all the help during my project.
